What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?
- I have learnt that the sharing component of ensuring a real, responsive and authentic audience is what makes a real difference to student achievement.
- What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?I learnt tips and tricks for personalising my folders with colours to help folder organisation. I also really enjoyed learning about how to use headings and outlines in longer documents and how you can link the students or colleagues in to a specific part of the document.
A third thing I enjoyed learning about was seeing how I can use Google Groups to track through email and replies instead of just using it as a group email system. - What did I learn that could be used with my learners? I would like to explore the use of headings and outlines in Writing for students to self asses or focus in on different aspects of different genre. I will use the voice recorder throughout Literacy and Inquiry to share ideas, record oral reading and publish written work to be published on student blogs.
- What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow in my personal life? Hacks for photos, invites, SNIPPING TOOL!!!!!Here is the infographic / poster that I created today about how to make an infrographic / poster!

I like your idea of using the Headings and Sub Headings tool as a method of structuring writing.
ReplyDeleteI also appreciated the colour coding for google folders - such a simple but effective tool! The authentic audience is definitely a great motivation for students and it is impressive to see the increased results for students who have had this opportunity. Looking forward to learning more!
ReplyDeleteHi Veronica
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your thoughts from our first day on the Manaiakalani Digital Fluency Intensive. I'm looking forward to hearing how your students enjoy using voice typing and organising their docs using the Headings feature which should help them refer to resources or key ideas easier.
Wow, you have taken away so much Veronica. I look forward to hearing about how the heading tool works with your students, such a clever idea.
